Write alt text before you post

If an image matters, describe it. AI can help you draft alt text, but you should still check it yourself.

The situation

You create a post, slide or article with an image. The image contains meaning: a product, a chart, a screenshot or a visual joke. If that meaning is not in text, part of the message disappears.

Try this

"Write concise alt text for this image. Describe the information someone needs to understand the post. Do not mention decorative details unless they matter."

Make it easier

Write the main point in text, not only in the image. Good alt text also helps when images do not load, when someone listens to the page, or when the important detail is easy to miss at a glance.
