Delegate a Slack task to Claude with a clear brief

Tagging AI in Slack works best when the ask is specific enough for someone else to check.

What changed

Anthropic says Claude in Slack switched to the Claude Tag experience on August 3, 2026. Claude Tag lets Team and Enterprise users tag @Claude in Slack conversations and hand it work inside the thread.

Anthropic lists Claude Tag as beta and says it works in Slack today. Claude can use the shared conversation context, work under its own identity and follow up in the thread.

Try this

  1. Tag @Claude only after the thread has enough context.
  2. State the output you want: draft, summary, table, checklist or decision brief.
  3. Add the audience and deadline.
  4. Ask Claude to separate confirmed facts from assumptions.

"Please summarize this thread into decisions, open questions and next actions. Put my actions first and mark anything that still needs confirmation."

Make it easier

Use the same short structure every time: outcome, audience, deadline, format. A predictable brief makes the answer easier to scan and easier for the team to correct.

Availability depends on Claude Team or Enterprise plan, Slack setup, beta access and organization settings. Review any summary before treating it as a team decision.
